Featured Amplifier Builder
Periodically I feature a particular amplifier manufacture that offers an exception amp. This is the line of amps that our Funky Frets store will carry in the spring and my personal choice for my jazz, rock and ukulele gigs. A combination of their MicroPro 200 Full-Range 8" and various extensions cabinets cover that a wide range of music styles.

Sound Island's guitarist-proprietor is Michael Biller. He began his musical
training at a very early age while growing up in Latin America, eventually moving
to the USA and playing in his midwest area College Symphony Orchestra and Jazz
Ensemble.
After a long bout pursuing an MBA trek in the business world but growing
increasingly involved as a Seattle WA area 7-string Jazz guitarist, idealogue and
organizer of music events, Michael opened Sound Island...a new type of store
specializing in sound reinforcement for the acoustic musician.
Sound Island brings many exceptional acoustic music amplification products under
one roof. The community of Jazz, Classical, Latin and Folk players can now
audition world class brands with their own instrument in a quiet, comfortable
setting assisted by a fellow musician with ears for the genre. For those who live
far from the Seattle area, Sound Island is only an email or telephone call away.
Same friendly and caring service.
When not helping Sound Island's customers...or jamming with them...Michael is
usually either playing his wonderful Bill Moll custom archtop or volunteering on
a special project for the SJGS (Seattle Jazz Guitar Society), a local 501c3
non-profit corporation dedicated to the advancement of guitar Jazz in all its
forms. Michael also helps organize Jazz Jams for a local Middle and High School
where students gain experience playing in small combos often alongside local pro
players.
